Elmer Amaya

Elmer Amaya is the Ministry Specialist for Wake Forest BSU, a Cooperative Baptist Student Fellowship shaped by holy curiosity, community, and justice. 

Elmer earned his M.Div. from Wake Forest University School of Divinity in May 2025. He also serves as a Healthcare Chaplain, and Associate Professional Consultant at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, and Davie Medical Center

Elmer is passionate about creating spaces where students feel seen, welcome, supported, and loved as they explore faith, vocation, and belonging. He believes BSU should be a place where questions are welcomed, stories are honored, and faith becomes a practice of compassionate presence—on campus and beyond.
