BSU Council
Anna Smith, President
Hello! I'm Anna Smith, I'm a junior from Mooresville, NC. I am President of BSU and I am dedicated to fostering a welcoming community for spiritual growth and community service. My academic passion lies in Health and Exercise Science, with a Biology minor, as I'm fascinated by the connection between human health and biology. Looking forward to growing personally and academically while making meaningful connections. Feel free to reach out—I'd love to connect!
Abby Laursen, Secretary-Treasurer
Hi everyone! I'm Abby Laursen, a junior from Ocean City, NJ. Other than BSU, I love spending time with friends, listening to country music, playing with my dogs, and going shopping. Looking forward to a fun year with BSU and meeting new people!
Lord Walker Wilkins, Fellowship Coordinator
Hi, I'm Walker. I'm a sophomore mechanical engineering major, with a minor in women and gender studies, from Fayetteville, NC. I enjoy camping, reading, playing music, and wearing kilts. I'm also the president of Chi Rho, the university's original a cappella group. Our Lamb has conquered; let us follow him.
Madie Keller, Public Relations Coordinator
My disdain for writing website bios comes from deep seated pain involving Ludite web designers. I’m not even certain I knew we had this website. I’ve never been to it. I don’t think anyone even told me about it. I am the PR Coordinator though. I’m in charge of our instagram, twitter, and Facebook accounts as well as our BSU website. My goal is to overthrow Anna and become the new BSU president.
Thomas Long, Amazon Reviewer
I would give this seller zero stars if I could, but one is the minimum number that the website allows. I ordered a baking pan from this company in the shape of Wyoming to go with my baking pan in the shape of Colorado. When I opened the box, I was shocked to find that the pan was dented. It looks like someone had dropped it on one corner. I just couldn’t believe the state the pan was in. **Edit** So it turns out that it wasn’t a dented Wyoming pan. I had mistakenly ordered a pan in the shape of Kansas, which looks like a dented Colorado pan. So the state of pan was Kansas, which I could believe. Plus, I'll let Chris know when I've seen my bio. **Edit** Saw the bio, I think it’s pretty good though could be a bit more detailed really makes it crazy. **Edit** Well, Ethan and Walker decided to cook for the weekly BSU Horizons meeting. So I decided to let them cook on top of the stove using the Kansas shaped pan. The directions on the box said that the first step was to grease the bottom of the pan. The fire marshall told us that it meant the bottom of the 'inside' of the pan. **Edit** Chris thought the joke was funny. **Edit** Actually, I am the most interesting man at Wake Forest. I don’t often write website bios, but when I do, I get Chris to write the bio and then deal with the results. I’m the 2024-25 Worship Coordinator for the BSU and am also in student government. I’m a sophomore from the small town of Repeated Memes, which is one of the oldest towns in North Carolina. One fun fact about Repeated Memes is that it is where Abraham Lincoln created the internet. After undergrad, I’m off to medical school. *** Edit - Having Chris write my bio is like AI, but he can draw hands.
Ethan Elvander, Crooner and Missions Coordinator
I asked my friend Thomas what I’m doing here. Thomas replied that many great scientists, philosophers, theologians, and other deep thinkers have wrestled with the question of “Why am I here?”. I responded, no, why am I on the BSU leadership page? I'm not on BSU council. And who put that photo there? That's a photo of me from the Chi Rho concert, featuring Minor Variations. Thomas told me that I might be on council and not know it. I guess I'll go to leadership meetings and see if I can figure out if I'm on council or not. Thomas did ask me to cook for BSU on Tuesday night.
Update: So it turns out that I am on the leadership team. I wasn't, but now I am. I also used to sing for Chi Rho, the Christian men's a Capella group. I mean, I still sing for Chi Rho, but I also used to sing for Chi Rho.
Quincie Loy, New Student Representative
Hello! I'm Quincie Loy, a freshman from Mebane, NC. I am the New Student Representative for BSU, and I’m so excited to be part of this amazing community! My potential major is Politics and International Affairs, with a minor in Sociology. I’m a lifelong Baptist, and coming to Wake Forest, BSU welcomed me with open arms, completely changing my life. Outside of academics, I adore my cats—they are my babies! I’m looking forward to growing in faith, making connections, and serving with this wonderful group. One of my favorite bible verse I want to share is 1 Corinthians 13:13 says, "So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love". Feel free to say hi—I’d love to connect!
